Youth Photography Class B

Here is some work from my second class. Same stuff, different kids. They all did great, too! Good job everyone!

Kai and Natalie were tired of modeling by their class, so they did pictures of each other instead.

Youth Photography Class A

I apologize for all the collages lately, but here are a few more.

These are some images from my first class, demonstrating good and bad techniques that we went over in class. One day I brought in my studio equipment for them to try (the ones with a black background).

They all did really well. Kai and Natalie were their models, although Natalie only lasted through one kid.

We talked a lot about lighting: things to look for and things to avoid while taking pictures of it all.

Natalie's First Haircut

I think Natalie liked her first haircut, although she is making silly faces in all the pictures. She was pretty excited about it when she was all done though!

Her hair was filthy so we had to wash it first. She did better with that part than I thought she would, she just had this cute, little scared smile the whole time. It took 2 booster chairs to get her high enough to reach the sink.

I never actually got pictures of Kai's first haircut, so I figured I would do some of him too while we were there. He's a pro now; I actually had him go first so Natalie could see what would happen.

Birthday Girl

It's your birthday shout hooray! Here's some pictures from Natalie's Party on Saturday. Yes, that's the same hat as last year! We didn't have a real party for her and didn't buy many decorations either, but she didn't mind! Next year she can have a real party.

Giving Papa loves!

Julie giving Natalie a push on her new big girl bike!
Natalie in her cute new outfit from Grandma Drake. Thanks mom, she looks so adorable in the clothes!
Jake giving Kai (or should I say Woody) a ride on his skateboard. He says he wants one for his birthday now, we'll see.

One Year ago...

I can't believe how much Natalie has changed and grown in the last year! Her hair has grown a mile and she is talking constantly. Look for birthday pictures of this year soon.

I like to make their 1st birthday cakes, this was Natalie's. I got lots of tips and techniques from Kari to pull this one off! Turned out pretty good I think, Natalie liked it too.

And the winner is....

Jeremy and I finally narrowed it down to one we both agreed on! Now I just need to print it!
Happy 2nd Birthday today Natalie!

Cakes

Kari has been baking up a storm! Her cakes look delicious and so pretty. I am amazed at how quickly she has learned and fine-tuned this talent. Way to go! Very impressive!

If you want her to make you a cake, go here.

Teacher

FYI: I am teaching at the Spanish Fork Youth Arts Festival for the next 2 weeks!

I am teaching two classes on Digital point and shoot cameras everyday (ages 7-18). So I am busy to say the least, sorry if I fail to comment on all of your blogs for a while. Oh, and did I mention I am completely sick?! Bad timing! Haha.

Anyway, next week I should have some killer student photos to post! It's going to be a fun experience for me and hopefully for them too!

Oh, and I have a very random question for you all...how much sugar do you use when making koolaid? I use 1/2 cup.  I can't stand the thought of my kids drinking that much sugar, especially with diabetes on both sides. Yuck!

Lady of the Lake

The weather finally cooperated for this sitting on the shore of Utah Lake. Thanks for being so patient A. ! We got so many good pictures, it was hard to narrow it down (don't worry I left you a ton).  I also got some incredible silhouettes! For the sake of space, I made some collages with a few of my favorites. Enjoy.

Sanctuary

So I finally have a place for clients to sit comfortably and view their prints! Yeah! It is my own little corner, and it is a work in progress, but I love it!

I even have lots of yummy candy for you and your kiddos to eat while you look at pictures!

My other good news is that I finally found bedding that matches the paint job I labored over (litterally, I was 9 mo pregnant)! We have sent back numerous duvet sets. This one is lime green, brown and white and it compliments the other colors in the room so well! Good night!

Looking Back....

I've been looking through all the pictures I've ever taken to find my best for my business cards. These won't be on any of them, but I have to say that this was my favorite sitting this year. I had so much fun! So, to all you dancers out there....I'd love to do your pictures!!

Natalie

Here is Natalie's (almost) 2 Yr old photo shoot. I wanted to get one cute one to print enormously large for her bedroom wall. I think the green will look nice on her purple wall. Which ones are your favorites?

I couldn't leave out the thumb! Always sucking that thumb.

Yes, I had to bribe her to stay put! But at least it matches the picture!

The look. The look she makes when she doesn't want me talking to her anymore!

Pretending to be asleep so she won't have to do more pictures!

Next, she pilfered my chapstick and I found her jumping around on our bed being silly!
