Looking Back on 2008....

This has been such a great year for Freckles Photography. I have had so much fun meeting lots of extraordinary little people and their parents, growing my business, knowledge and skills. Thank you to all of my clients who have made this such a great year! I look forward to another exciting year in 2009!

This was one of my favorite little subjects from 2008. He cracked me up. He was so talkative in a wise, matter-of-fact way and told me about how his brother got soap in his mouth for saying something naughty and talked to me about the weather and a bunch of other things as well.

This one is so funny to me!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The B Family

I got to photograph these cute kids today for their holiday pictures! They were so affectionate and fun and the little guy stayed asleep for the whole thing, how great is that?! Thanks for inviting me into your home a second time, I hope you enjoy these!

Brand (New) Me!

I've been hard at work creating some marketing materials for myself and trying to create a brand. I've redone it so many times that I'm driving my family crazy, but I think this is close to the final product! This is the front cover of my brochure. What do you think?

p.s. the colors didn't transfer very well posted, but you get the idea.

Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving with plenty of friends, family and food! Here are some pictures from the preschool. Those were the days...pasta necklaces and hand turkeys!

Christmas Shopping

Kai has been running around the house non-stop pretending to take pictures of our family. He also tries to use my camera when I'm not looking, he knows where I keep it and he'll go get it out! He honestly loves it, which is awesome.

I wouldn't ever persuade him to like photography, but since he does we've decided to get him his very own camera for christmas, one of those big, unbreakable playskool ones. Now I won't have to worry about replacing any of my expensive equipment!! I hope he likes it, and p.s. no one tell him! ; )

Oh, and I will announce November's Give-away winner soon, so keep checking back and if you haven't already, leave a comment for a chance to win!!

Family Blog

In an effort to separate family and business I have created a new family blog! It is public, but I am not going to associate it with this one, so if you would like to know what it is please send an e-mail to: and I will send you a link! I have also moved all my personal links to that one as well. So now some of you have 2 blogs to check! Don't forget to leave comments on this one still to win prizes!

Family Pictures

I got to hang out with my friend Chanthoeun today and she was kind enough to do our family pictures! Yeah! I met her a while back in a photography class and we have kept in touch since; She is an awesome photographer and I hope she starts her business soon! hint hint

I told her our session would be very laid back and easy, but it was probably more difficult than any family shoot she will ever have because of my camera- sick, uncooperative children! Sorry! But here are a few of my favorites of what she captured despite unruly kids. I have done a very quick edit with her permission to post them on the blog. I mostly chose ones with me looking at the camera because I was so excited that I looked good in pictures for once!! Good Job.

Chanthoeun, I will let you edit these with your own artistic vision though, and I think I actually prefer them in color! Who knew?!

A Bunch of Sickheads

Well, I have to say this has been one of the hardest weeks for me on record! Jeremy left for India on Tuesday morning. I had pictures scheduled Wednesday and Thursday all day. Well, in the middle of my sitting on Wed Kai's school called and sent him home with Pink eye. We went to the Dr. that afternoon and his fever was over 102 (I didn't even know he had a fever), so the Dr. was puzzled, there was no reason for a fever, he wasn't sick anywhere but his eye.

Jump to the next day...the eye drops and medication aren't making a difference, and I'm still busy with pictures. So we go to an eye specialist later that day who tells us it isn't pink eye, it's a virus, a VERY contagious one! Kai has to stay home from school for a WEEK! Which means home from everywhere else, too so we don't infect anyone. Great, home with 2 kids 24-7 and no husband. At first I thought, well this could be fun, we can play games and have fun.

We had fun for one day! And my house is sparkling now, too since I didn't have much else to do, but I started going crazy! I couldn't get a babysitter and I couldn't go anywhere! And to top it off, Natalie got the flu, TWICE!! And then so did I, yesterday.  I think I need a vacation!!

The sad part is that I couldn't even get out and vote! I was just about to call someone to watch the kids when Natalie threw up all over me! Good thing I got Jeremy's ballot in on time for him, so at least one of us got to vote!

Anyway, luckily, Jeremy is coming home today and I can't wait! I appreciate him so much and miss everything he does to help around the house, especially the feeding and cleaning up after the dog part!! ; ) xoxo

I must say though, that I have the best friends and neighbors ever! Thank you to everyone who helped me this week in ways they could! Thank you Kari and Amy for bringing dinner, that was so great! Thank you Julie for going grocery shopping for me twice! Thank you to Regina for taking the kid's pumpkins and getting candy for us and for bringing movies!

And a big thank you to grandma and grandpa for exposing yourselves to this to watch Natalie those first two days, thanks for bringing food and movies and for coming on Halloween night to give a blessing!! Thank you bishop Lyman , too for helping give a blessing!

Sneak Peek For Baby "T"

This little guy was determined to stay awake, but we got some shots that look pretty convincing! A big thanks to "T's" mom for letting me take his pictures before his 2 weeks!
I know mom wants these in B&W, but this one melted my heart in color! I forgot just how tiny newborns are, so adorable.

He decided he wasn't going to let me steal his binky any more! haha!

This one makes me laugh out loud, I love it! He looks like he is playing air guitar.
