Preschool

I just finished my last round of Preschool pictures for the year. Now I just have to edit about a million pictures and put the yearbooks together for the parents in the next week or so.  No biggie! : o

Here is a sneak peek at some of my favorites from this week. Luckily, it rained between classes and not during so we were able to go play outside. I've noticed that on blogger all my contrast goes down the drain so I made all these look almost comical before posting. We'll see how that works out!

This first picture is going to be the cover to the books-I love it!

California- Sneak Peak

We're home! I don't have much time this week to post many pictures, but here is a glimpse of our trip. I will post again after I am done getting all my preschool books together and finish my Relief Society Lesson for Sunday!

Here is the afternoon parade at Disney Land. We actually only got onto 3 rides that day; it was busier than I thought it would be.  So it was good that Kai got to see some of the characters in this parade.

The Buzz light year ride- we rode that one twice, it was Kai's favorite! On our way home I asked him what his favorite part of Disney Land was, he said, "Defeating Zurg!"

Another picture of the Buzz ride (courtesy of my sister-in-law Heather Alden), and our family by Buzz (Also by Heather). After the second Buzz ride we decided to buy the kids a toy, take a family picture and get out of there; the kids were already exhausted!

The next day we went to the beach to take some family pictures. It's been a while since we've had one done (shame on me). This was so fun to have someone else take the photos and not have to worry about any of that.

These pics are courtesy of Heather and Kael Alden; thanks again guys! We got a lot of good photos so I'll post some more of those later.

Disney Land Here We Come

We're going out of town for the weekend to go pick up Jeremy's new truck in California. While we're there we are going to go to Disney land! Kai can't wait, but I think Jeremy might be slightly more excited about the truck than Kai is about Disney Land! I'll post some photos of Disney Land when we return! Have a great weekend!

Kari's Cakes

My friend makes beautiful cakes! If you need a wedding cake or a birthday cake go check her out here!

Bye Bye Baby- Hello Toddler!

Natalie is no longer my baby! She is already so grown up. We re-designed her room last week and took down the crib and changing table and replaced them with a new toddler bed and dresser! She was so excited that she could actually get out of bed; it took her a few nights to adjust.

I took a few snapshots of her in front of her new purple wall that she loves. Don't worry, I'll be taking photos of the new room soon, maybe when those cat scratches heal!

And my favorite of the day!

Mittens

The Nelson's strike again! For any of you who know us well, you know we don't have a good track record with pets. They usually don't stay with us very long.

Well, we decided to get the kids a kitten because Kai has been begging for one! We bought one from the shelter (of course we couldn't find any free ones), a cute female calico we named Mittens. She was a great kitten, but there were some major problems....

Turns out, natalie loved the kitty a little too much! She would just drag it around the house by it's neck and tail and swing it around. We were afraid she would hurt it. Also, if it hid from her she would cry her eyes out. All day long she was crying because the kitty hid from her. She also  picked up a few scratches from her affection! Kai was pretty good with the kitty, although I did see him throw her a couple times too!

The biggest problem though is that mommy and daddy are allergic to cats it turns out. So, in the end we had to get rid of her.
Bye Bye Kitty!

Oh, and Kai's other frog, Alex, died the next day! Really bad timing!

Hanauma Bay- Hawaii

Our last Day in Hawaii was spent driving along the East Coast, taking pictures and finally, snorkeling. This picture is from a lookout point somewhere on the coast, possibly blowhole? We were looking for Blowhole (a good spot to see whales, and also a wave crash that looks like a whale's blowing water), but we never did see a sign for it. So, we were there, somewhere, but didn't even know it!
This is Hanauma Bay (the part that only cost $1-to park)! It is a nature preserve, so to actually get to the beach you have to pay! It is cool thought because they limit the number of people that are there all day. Once the parking lot is full, they close it. We had to drive by a few times before there was an opening. It is a huge reef with many types of fish, sea turtles, and octapus, although we only saw fish.

Here are some of our fishy friends! Jeremy and I are both terrible in the water, and I'm sure it was a hilarious sight to watch- both of us freaking out because we couldn't breath! We didn't go out very far because my mask kept filling up with water too, but there were tons of fish just a foot out into the water! I think I kicked a few on accident!

Can I just say that I hate those disposable cameras- with a huge mask and a tiny viewfinder?! I just stuck it out and hoped I got fish!
