Kai Goes To School!

Kai is now a Kindergardener! These are some pictures from his first day of school on Monday. He was so excited to go that morning that he was all smiles. 

He is there all day and so far he is having a great time and learning new things. He did forget to bring his lunch box home today though, but other than that things are going well! I think his favorite part of the day is nap time though, he tells me about it everyday!

We were really rushed in the morning and I forgot to bring my camera to the school so Jeremy asked me to do some more pictures after school. Kai was pretty tired though after his first day and not in the mood for pictures obviously...

I was also told to get a picture of Kai with the dog to match one that Jeremy has from his first day of school, but both Kai and the dog had other plans. This is about as good as it gets.

Pictures For Grandma

Grandma hasn't seen our yard this summer or all the wildflowers we planted. We lined our fence all the way around the house with wild flower seeds and now that they are in bloom it looks really pretty! Here is a glimpse of the variety...

Change #1

So this is my first major change out of the many that I'm planning and it's not even business related. Jeremy and I had to figure out a good strategy for getting things done in the morning that included  Kai  eating a healthy breakfast before school and me having time to exercise as well.

So here it is: Jeremy and I are BOTH going wake up at 6:30am!! Those of you who know me know that I am NOT a morning person!!! I usually roll out of bed at 8am and give the kids a bowl of sugar basically and try to exercise and clean. But then I end up showering around 1 pm everyday, not so hot. 

This way, I exercise before the kids are awake, jeremy is in charge of making us a healthy breakfast, and I pack Kai's lunch and shower in time to take him to school. At least that's the plan!! : ) Wish us luck!

David Jay Seminar

I went to a seminar by wedding photographer David Jay last week that was amazing! It was the best money I've spent on photography yet! He gave us so many ideas and tips on how to drastically shorten editing time, and ways to make our businesses run more efficiently. 

I was so inspired and amazed : He can edit an entire wedding in 2 hours, 10 cards full of pictures in 2 hours!! It made me realize that I should certainly be able to edit one child sitting in half that amount of time! : )

Therefore,  I am now in the process of making some huge changes to my business. I will be doing things a bit different from now on. So be on the lookout for some new and exciting things, including a new website!

Nikon Babies

Kai has been asking me lately if he can take pictures and since our simple point and shoot is broken I thought I'd let them have a go with my back- up camera. They had so much fun. I can just see future photographers in the making! : - )

This is my favorite of Natalie; she never figured out how to look through the viewfinder, but she knew she was supposed to have her face on there somehow. Look closely and you can see both her eyes looking at me!
