Mikel and Carlie's wedding

Here are a few images from the wedding I photographed on Thursday. They are such a sweet couple and had such a nice ceremony and reception. The best part was that the lunch was catered by Panda Express! Yum.

Mikel is my husband's cousin so I knew most of the guests, which  made the day that much more enjoyable! It was good to see everyone, hope you enjoy the pictures!

Halloween

Since I already had a sitting at the pumpkin patch I told Jeremy to dress the kids up in their costumes and bring them on over. My kids lasted about 5 minutes in front of the camera before  they couldn't wait to go pick out their own pumpkins! We had a fun day carving pumpkins with Jeremy's siblings; I'll post pictures of our carved pumpkins later.

Meet: Iron Man and Cinderella!

Look at those muscles!

Isn't she the cutest princess ever?

Sneak Peek For the "H" family

It was such a beautiful day out in the pumpkin patch this morning and these cute kids were so much fun to photograph! They looked awesome in their coordinating outfits; what a fun family!
They were so excited to pick their own pumpkins when they were finished.

I did get a few individual shots; this one is one of my favorites, I just really like it!

Brand Inspiration

I've been thinking a lot lately about what type of look and feel I want my business to have so I can get all my paper materials designed and ready. So here are some pictures I found that convey my feelings....

Let me explain: We did an exercise at Learnfest to help us discover our business identity. Here are some of the words that describe me, my business, and my shooting style:

Calm, quiet, sweet, cute, simple, bright, fun, playful, and clean.

So lookout for some fun, colorful designs that look like sprinkles (round of course, to match my name)!

Carlie's Bridals

Here's a little sneak peek for you Carlie. Thanks for a fun morning, and for being willing to dodge cow poo for an awesome shot. You are such a beautiful bride, don't let Mikel peek at these! I'll see you two next week for the big day.

Family Vacation

We went on a "vacation" with the kids last night. We have been so busy lately and all my clients cancelled this weekend so we wanted to do something fun with the kids. Jeremy had the idea to use Marriott points to get a room for free for a night so we would have a free vacation. We had planned on bringing a frozen pizza to cook in the oven, until we realized that we booked at a different place and there was no oven. So we did spend money on dinner and breakfast, oh well.

So I packed up the kids and we drove to Provo (I know, such a long drive for a weekend get a way).   : )  We picked up a pizza and checked in. Then we ate, went swimming and watched cartoons and ate snacks. In the morning we went swimming again and went home. The kids loved it, but I think all they will remember is the swimming and the Cheetos! They ate more of those before breakfast!

It took them sooo long to fall asleep in the same bed! Natalie kept poking Kai, Jeremy finally had lay in between them to help her keep her hands to herself. I think she was on a sugar high!

Conference Weekend

This is a week late, but last Saturday Jeremy and I got tickets to go to General Conference in Salt Lake. We went to the afternoon session, and although it poured rain all day and my heels were bleeding from walking in cheap shoes, we had a fun time. We went out to dinner afterwards; it was such a relaxing day for us.

Here are a few pictures I took with my cell phone from the balcony of the conference center. I loved seeing a swimming mass of umbrellas.

Bright Ideas Preschool

Here is another round of preschool pictures. I love this age, they are just so cute!! It was so hot outside both days and there was no shade so I got sunburned, but only on my forehead! I think the grass was reflecting the sun like crazy and my camera was protecting the rest of my face, so now I look a little funny! That's never happened before!

Oh, and I thought I would start watermarking my images just to be safe. it's a little all over the place in this post, so I'll try and make it more uniform from now on!

Beach Days

By this day I was feeling sick, but there was no way I was going to miss watching Audrey in action!! I enjoyed every class and each instructor, but this was the highlight of the trip! She is an amazing photographer! It gave me a ray of hope since she uses the same camera I do! : ) She even said I had cute cheek bones, awww.

So, anyway here are some pics I took during that class. A lot of these are cropped quite a bit since I was shooting with a 50mm behind and to the side of Audrey. These 1st two are my favorites!

Home Again!

I'm back from Learnfest! I had such an amazing experience, words can't even describe it! I learned so much and have so many new ideas for my business, too. It was such an inspiration. Thank you to all the amazing instructors for sharing your time and talents with us!

Here are some images from the first day of classes; we were lucky to have had such beautiful models! That day we were watching Tamara work with kids. She is a ball of energy, that one! If I tried to exude that much energy I'd drop dead by noon! But It was a fun experience watching her work and seeing her style; she is amazing with kids!

Although we were split up into small groups so that taking pictures wasn't a shoving match, it was still hard to get a good angle a few times. But here is a little of what I got.....
