Playing in the Leaves - Children's Photographer, Utah

I got to go photograph some preschool activities at the library the other day; I love kids this age, they are all so cute! Natalie was extra cute to me that day so I took extra of her. ; )

Natalie was trying to hide behind the leaf. Doesn't Nicole look like she's having a blast?! haha She gets to tag a long every once in a while.

My goofy girl, she loves to pull faces that I can't resist capturing. She won the battle with the shoes that morning. After trying hard to get her in a cute outfit and doing her hair, I gave up at the shoes. She is just as stubborn as her mommy!

Some great leaf - throwing and kicking action.

Finding nuts that the squirrels dropped in the rose garden.

Natalie calls them coconuts!

This little girl is such a doll!

Thanks for letting me share your fun day and hogging all the pictures with my own children! haha

Painting - Fall Fashion Shoot

I am so excited to have my new software program! I am hoping to do more digital painting in the future as I conquer this new beast of a program. Here are my first humble attempts at painting... What do you think, do you like the look?

Fall Fashion Shoot Part 3: On Location - Utah Fashion Photographer

I posted a lot of these on Facebook already, but forgot to finish up the fall shoot here. Here are some more studio shots, fun makeup, fall colors, and beautiful girls. The location shots were so much fun and it is my new favorite location. I didn't have time to do it justice so I think I will need to re visit it again soon. : )

Fall Fashion Shoot Part 2 - Utah Fashion Photography

Sometimes this is how I feel about my hair when I wake up in the morning, so many tangles and wild strands. haha I love this series, probably my favorite of the bunch, who knew. It's funny how that happens with sessions, I go into it thinking a different set will be my favorite, and then I am surprised!

She has the most beautiful collar bones and neck, don't you think? I am slowly working through all these images, I'll try to post the rest of the girls by the weekend, I know you are all dying to see some. Also, for those under 18, I will be e-mailing another model release for you to sign and a parent to sign. ; )

Fall Fashion Shoot - Part 1 - Utah Fashion Photographer

Here are a few images from my Fall Fashion Shoot last night. I had 7 gorgeous girls come to be models, and we had a blast! I haven't seen that much girl stuff in one house since my cheerleading days. My husband took the kids out with him all night and delivered pizza to us in the middle of the madness. He is so sweet, he just laughed and said our house had thrown up girl! haha Later he told the stylist that he didn't mind; that's what he signed up for when he married a photographer! I love him!!

Thanks girls for coming, waiting, and being yourself in front of the camera. And a big thank you to my wonderful makeup artist who I worked to death. Brittany, please list your contact info in the comments.

Also, I forgot to tell you all last night, but if you'd like to order any professional prints from me I will give you all 20% off as another thank you!

Well, this was all I had time to post today, but like I said there were 7 beautiful ladies, so there will be lots more in the next few days! ; )

Heart Gallery - Adoption Gallery Show

Meet Brian, we did a mini shoot last week to prepare for the 2010-2011 Heart Gallery Show. For those that don't know, every year they do a traveling gallery show with kids that need parents and families to call their own. I am so honored to be a part of this year's gallery events and hope it creates miracles for these kids and many others like them...

Brian is a very polite kid, a little quiet, but I only got to spend 30 minutes with him. He's got the most gorgeous brown eyes and cute dimples, and yes, along with many other kids, he's in need of a forever home. We're hoping these pictures will inspire someone out there!!

Brian, thanks for trusting me to take your pictures, I promised I'd let you pick which one to show! Let me know which one (one of you smiling) you'd like as the gallery 16x20, and which one you'd like for yourself as an 8x10. : )

To All My Lovely Clients,

I just updated my "about" section on the web, and on the "About" tab here on the blog as well. There aren't many business changes except my new Session Scheduling.

Welcome to my 3 ring circus! Well, it's only a circus now and then, but I do struggle with my balancing act everyday. These little cuties are my life and joy, and my greatest accomplishment. I am sincere in my effort to to be a mother first, and a photographer second, (although I love photography as much as my family, so some days this is extremely difficult). It is such a joy, and a challenge, to be mentally and physically available to my children when they really need me.

Because of this commitment, and because my children are so young, I am cutting back. Just for a few years! I will now pour my heart and soul into just TWO, carefully selected Sessions every month (which book quickly, I am usually booked 2-3 months out at a time).

Photography has been my life and passion for more than 12 years now. My brother bought me my first camera when I was 18; it was completely manual Penatx SLR that shot film! I've come a long way and learned a lot from that little camera. After years of trial, I now know that I love to create images of children that are either deliciously modern, or images that have vintage feel. I also relish in passionate teens, romantic women and dance. My images are simple, colorful, fun, and fresh.

In addition to my years of experience, I have been trained by the nation's greatest in every field; so you can count on exceptional results. I realize there are a lot of choices in this market today, and I don't take lightly my commitment to produce beautiful, personal, and timeless art for your home. I only work with one client at a time, start to finish, so you get the ultimate in customer service.  I also take the time to get to know who you really are, creating images where your personality shines through.

If you'd like to schedule a fun session, give me a call. I'd love to work with you!

Sincerely,
Evelyn   801.473.7896

I'd also like to add a Q&A on the about tab. Post any questions you have about me in the comments and I'll answer them!

New Self Portraits

I was forced to do an updated picture this week, I haven't taken a headshot in years so I was long overdue.  Luckily, this time, my lovely assistant Chantel came to the rescue so I didn't have to do these tripod style. : )
Here are 2 of my fav's, I'll post a few more soon.
Which one do you like best?

I'm In Love

With clothes! The newest Anthropologie collection is to die for! I love the photography, the location, the horses, and the clothes. This is how I would dress everyday if I could; and I would kill for the chance to shoot that catalogue.

Sigh, if only I were made of money.

Until then I'll make do with casual mass production...Old Navy here I come.

Jentri - Utah Teen Photographer, Senior Pictures

I had the pleasure of photographing this senior last week. Our session was so much fun, she was game  for anything, and I loved all her outfits! This girl has some serious style. I need her to go on a shopping trip with me to get some style help. lol

She has the most beautiful smile, don't you think?!

Jentri loves softball and green is her favorite color.

Say Hello To My Little Friend

Meet Benjamin, our newest edition! He is a cute little thing, very mild mannered, and mellow. I think Benjamin will stick around for a few reasons:

*First, he is already house trained! He's had a few accidents, but is making progress quickly. And guess what, for the most part, he uses a litter box in the bathroom!!

*He's gone through most of the puppy chewing and training. He is 1, but so well behaved. We do need to get him fixed though.

*He sleeps with Kai and is Kai's little buddy.

* He hardly sheds, no one is allergic, and he needs little exercise. I took him on a walk to get Kai from school and he barely made it home. The school is about 6 blocks away! He came home and slept for 3 hours afterward, snoring loudly!

This little guy can JUMP HIGH, up to Jeremy's shoulders! He's 6' 1''. So I guess we can't leave food out on the table or counters.

He is great with the kids!! Hasn't jumped on Nicole once, and follows them all around the house.

What do you think of our little man?

I ordered a 16x20 Gallery Mounted Print of this to hang in the studio and it looks great!

I am slowly printing sample images to hang in the studio since the kid's rooms are already covered. : )

Photo Training In Your Own Home! My Secret

I've got a secret and some great news to share with all my photographer friends out there!

Part of my personal, on-going training is from DVD's I get in the mail. They help me so much because I get to see other photographers working, what equipment they're using, their studio set ups, settings, client interactions and more. It refreshes my technical knowledge and gives me inspiration to try new things in my studio. They showcase so many different photographers in every specialty, and there is something new on every disc.

I've been watching the PhotoVision DVD series for the last 2 years and have loved it! You guys can now get this fabulous series at a great price, too! It is the best $39 I spend on training every year, and I can watch them whenever I want to.

PhotoVision is on sale at 70% off, until September 30th, just $39 for the entire year! I got a code from another photographer when I first signed up, and now you can get one from me:PVFAN
